Founded in 1916, the Beverly Hills Women’s Club sponsors educational, cultural, philanthropic, and social activities that enrich the community at large. Membership is open to those who support the club’s endeavors and subscribe to the BHWC mission; “The object of this club shall be advancement in all lines of general culture – the opportunity for social service – and the upbuilding of a community spirit in the City of Beverly Hills.” Enjoy the camaraderie of fellow members through supported activities that strengthen the bond of community spirit.
The Beverly Hills Women’s Club is the oldest continuously operating organization in Beverly Hills, aside from the city government. Membership support is central to the vibrancy and longevity of our historic club. The BHWC offers a wonderful and unique way to meet civically minded, culturally curious, community members.
Beverly Hills Women’s Club membership also automatically makes each BHWC member a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. Founded in 1890, the GFWC is an international women’s organization dedicated to community involvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. The BHWC first federated with the GFWC in 1924. The gorgeous GFWC headquarters is located at 1734 N. St. NW, Washington DC and houses the restaurant Iron Gate, one of the district’s oldest continuously operating restaurants.
