The mission of ICYOLA is to cultivate musical expression as a vehicle for personal development, and to bring to fruition the full musical and academic potential of young inner city residents of Los Angeles. ICYOLA is the largest majority Black orchestra in America. ICYOLA teaches inner-city youth the great music of the world, and provides opportunities to perform that music in magnificent community settings, including the Walt Disney Concert Hall.  ICYOLA instills the ancillary benefits that music instruction provides:  problem-solving skills, critical thinking, self-reliance, self-confidence, self-discipline, and the crystallization and pursuit of meaningful purpose. The Radcliffe Pitches, Harvard’s oldest treble-voiced a cappella group, take the stage. The Pitches formed in 1975 at the historic Hasty Pudding Club. Today, the group is composed of 14 Harvard undergraduates who perform a repertoire inspired by artists such as The Andrews Sisters, Ella Fitzgerald, and Frank Sinatra. Visiting from Boston, the Radcliffe Pitches of 2022-2023 present a polished and engaging musical experience. An exceptional group of treble-voiced musicians, the Radcliffe Pitches are dedicated to preserving and performing the jazz standards and American tunes that have impressed audiences throughout the generations.
